Copies of recordings may be requested by those who performed on an MSM concert or student recital. The studio also offers audio media transfers and digitization from formats such as reel-to-reel tape, cassette tape, and DAT tape.
Accessing Our Recordings
Manhattan School of Music performances, master classes, and concerts that are recorded each year are now available for listening purposes to the MSM community on The Orto Center for Distance Learning and Recording Arts’ cloud media platform — MSM Mediaspace — at mediaspace.treasurecoastwholesale.com. Many performances that are livestreamed can also be accessed on-demand at 0.treasurecoastwholesale.com/livestream.
MSM Recording Arts maintains the expansive historical audio archive collection of Manhattan School of Music performances recorded since the 1950s. An archival digitization project is currently underway in conjunction with MSM’s Centennial Celebration that will preserve these recordings in a digital format.
Radio Broadcast and Commercial Release
MSM performances recorded by Myers Recording Studio are broadcast regularly on various radio stations, including WQXR and WWFM. MSM’s ongoing partnership with WWFM—The Classical Network—offers the opportunity for select student performances to be broadcast throughout the school year on the station’s program, Celebrating Our Musical Future.
Myers Recording Studio regularly produces recordings for commercial release, including opera and jazz performance recordings released on Albany Records and Jazzheads respectively. In addition, Myers Recording Studio produces a commemorative compilation CD each year featuring the many outstanding performances from MSM student ensembles.
